Luke's photo album - Nualolo Trail
Thought you might like to see some of the pictures that Luke 'Stone' took during his hike out to Nualolo Vista, where he ran into Annie 'AJ' at the Vista. (He actually takes these pictures at the beginning of Chapter 5)
This first one is standing at the edge of the vista, looking down the north side, into the Nualolo Valley. Luke was pretty sure Annie thought he was nuts, standing this close to the edge.

This one was taken standing at the same spot, but looking up (instead of down). Luke turned to face northeast, more inland.

Again, from the same spot at the edge of the vista. This view is straight east, opposite the ocean. The outcropping of trees is where Luke and Annie stopped for a break in the shade, to eat the granola bars Luke brought.

This great shot of the Nualolo Valley below was taken when they went off the Nualolo Trail and followed the Nualolo Cliff Trail for 100 feet. The view straight down into the valley was certainly worth the detour!

When it's downhill, it's easy (sort of). Uphill, however, is much more daunting. This is one of the steepest parts of the Nualolo Trail, but a good representation of just how rough the trail can get.
